March for life – Abortion legislation

  • Lindsey Graham Senator of South Carolina should be praised for his efforts to institute new legislation for limiting abortion to the fifth month.
  • March for Life has been working to end abortion by uniting, educating, and mobilizing pro-life people in the public square.
  • Today when pregnancy tests are available even after the first week, there should be no reason to allow abortions except under extreme circumstances where there is a physical risk to the mother later in pregnancy.

Lindsey Graham Senator of South Carolina should be praised for his efforts to institute new legislation for limiting abortion to the fifth month.  In 1973 the Supreme Court issued a decision to decriminalize abortion.  Since then, March for Life has been working to end abortion by uniting, educating, and mobilizing pro-life people in the public square.

Recently a Texas lawmaker introduced legislation allowing capital punishment for abortions.  It got a hearing. President Donald Trump also stands behind limitations on abortion. However abortion today is legal in every State of the USA and in each state there is at least one abortion clinic. However since 2011 state restriction on abortion have increased.

In Israel, abortion was illegal until 1977.  Today abortion in Israel is permitted when approved by a termination committee.  It is even covered under the national health insurance.  The reasons for approval of abortions in Israel are the following:

  • The woman is younger than the legal age of marriage or older than 40 years old.
  • The pregnancy was conceived under illegal circumstances.
  • The fetus may have a mental or physical defect
  • Continued pregnancy may put the woman’s life at risk due to physical or emotional reasons.

In Israel there is also an organization called Efrat which is working in the same direction as March for Life. It is hard to believe that in the holy land of Israel is done almost 40,000 abortions each year.

As an Israeli and American citizen I feel ashamed that the value of life of a fetus in the belly of a pregnant mother has been transgressed upon through the institution of legislation permitting abortion. Especially frightening is to live in Israel the holy land in a nation where killing babies each day is legal.  Israel faces the danger of war with Iran and other nations living in the Middle East ruled by Islamic law that prohibits abortion.  God has had mercy on Israel until today but in the future there will have to be a stronger recognition amongst the Jews living in Israel of the sin of abortion. The future of Israel is at stake every moment that abortion continues to be allowed.

Jewish law permits abortion in the first 40 days.  Today when pregnancy tests are available even after the first week, there should be no reason to allow abortions except under extreme circumstances where there is a physical risk to the mother later in pregnancy.  As was mentioned by the women at the press conference with Lindsey Graham, ultra sound technology shows very clearly when the fetus is already living in the mother.  The baby at that point will suffer when abortion is performed.  The child in the mother has its own heartbeat.  At that point for sure it is murder to make an abortion.

God should bring the light of life to those that don’t value life.  The amendment proposed by Senator Lindsey Graham supported by President Trump should pass in the Senate and become law even if it still is not enough for believers in God.
