Huntsville Memorial Hospital’s CEO Steve Smith with Auxiliary President Pat Alexander and others on the hospital staff provided a cake as well as cookies and drinks for members of the Auxiliary, workers who were not on duty, and visitors to the hospital as a means of thanking the Auxiliary and the people who support the Hospital Auxiliary for its more than 60 years of service.
In recent years, the Hospital Auxiliary has given equipment totaling more than $200,000 in support of the work of HMH along with college scholarships to those pursuing careers in health care totaling more than $30,000.
The money raised by the Auxiliary is thanks mainly to the support of our community through purchases at the Hospital Gift Shop and through varied fund raisers such as pecan sales, bake sales, linen and book sales. Additional volunteers are always welcome and needed!
The Huntsville Memorial Hospital Gift Shop is run by a team of dedicated volunteers. To help make a patient’s stay a little brighter or to lift the spirits of visitors, the Gift Shop is packed with great novelty items such as jewelry, crystal, wind chimes, figurines, candies, and cards.
Huntsville Memorial Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited, not-for-profit acute care community hospital. Founded in 1927 to memorialize those lost in World War I, the facility provides ehealth care services to the residents of Walker County and its surrounding communities.
