A Prayer for Peace

  • The world is in turmoil. The threat of war is becoming real.
  • Iran an Islamic nation which believes in Jihad makes it obligated to retaliate against America with Israel as the scapegoat.
  • Each person has freedom to connect to God directly and ask God for help and refuge, like saying to God, You are my God and I will thank you, my Lord and I will praise you.  God help me and protect me.

The world is in turmoil. The threat of war is becoming real. Tensions in Venezuela between Madura and Guerra have created tension between United States and Russia two of the greatest nuclear powers in the world.  North Korea refuses to subdue before USA and continues to develop its nuclear capacity. Tensions in the Middle East are rising over oil interests in Libya. Saudi is applying pressure on the government of Libya in the same way it is pressuring the world accepted government in Yemen.  Sanctions on Iran from America have made tensions between China a nuclear power who depends on Iran for oil and America.  Iran is also protected by Russia one of the clients of Iran oil.  Russia is also behind the ruling government in Libya. Iran is looking for support from China, Russia and Europe to protect its rights to sell oil in the world and is threatening to close the Hormuz Straits.  America has already sent ships to these waters to enforce its own sanctions against Iran.  Iran if attacked by America will use its interests in Syria and Lebanon to retaliate against Israel.  All these tensions add up to a crisis and risk of War.

The grave of the Patriarchs in Chevron.

Iran an Islamic nation which believes in Jihad makes it obligated to retaliate against America with Israel as the scapegoat.  The same type of connection to Jihad influenced Saddam Hussein to go into Kuwait even though they knew that they were stepping on the feet of world interests in Kuwait oil.  Trump is calling out sanctions, sanctions, sanctions, and the Iranian religious leaders are answering and crying out Jihad, Jihad, Jihad.  Islamic pride and Jihad is behind the nuclear projects of Iran calling for their nation to become a nuclear power.  National pride is stopping North Korea from ending their own nuclear development. Russian national pride will not let America rule the world.  China national pride wants their nation to be the world richest country in the world.  They are looking to conquer Africa through economics investing and gaining control of their economy. China wanted to purchase the port in Haifa Israel which would give them a strong interest in Israel economics but America interfered because if China would own the port America could no longer use it. China is a threat in the world because of its money power.

There are national tensions in the world which again create tensions on innocent people men woman and children.  Politics and economics are coming to a new balance of power.  In the meantime the clergy the representatives of God have the job to give people faith in God and the afterlife. The individual is always the victim of National interest both religious, economical, and political.  Take refuge in God in times of distress.

The obligation to be a soldier is up to your conscience.  Everyone has free will to do the right thing. The freedom of the individual to do the right thing is limited by national and religious pressures.  God loves the poor and broken hearted more than anyone or anything.   Each person has freedom to connect to God directly and ask God for help and refuge, like saying to God, You are my God and I will thank you, my Lord and I will praise you.  God help me and protect me.  God loves the individual.  He gives the individual freedom.  As it says in Zechariah:8:17, “Truth justice and peace should rule in your gates.”

A Prayer for Peace
By Rabbi Nachman of Breslov (1772 – 1810)

Lord of Peace, Divine Ruler to whom peace belongs, Master of Peace, Creator of all things.

May it be thy will to bring an end to war and bloodshed on earth, and to spread a great and wonderful peace over the whole world, so that no nation shall not lift up sword against another nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

Help us and save us all, and help cling tightly to the virtue of peace. Let there be a truly great peace between every person and their fellow, and between husband and wife, and let there be no discord between any people even in their hearts.

And may it be that all people love peace and pursue peace, always with truth and wholeheartedness, without holding to any disputes ever again which would divide us against each other.

Let us never shame another person on earth, great or small. May it be granted to us to fulfill the commandment of “Love your neighbor like you love yourself” with all our hearts, souls, bodies and possessions.

And let it come to pass as it is written, “And I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down and none shall make you afraid. I will drive the wild beasts from the land; and neither shall the sword go through the land.” Leviticus 26:6

God who is peace, bless us with peace.
