You may recall Greshun De Bouse is the military granddaughter and disabled veterans advocate who founded Disabled Veterans Day™ or DVDay celebrated annually on June 30 to raise awareness and funding specifically for disabled veteran heroes and their and their families’ unique set of challenges to help ensure All their service-related disability needs are met with timeliness in a low-resistant process.
Though the holiday has received multiple mayoral proclamations, the very first proclamation for Disabled Veterans Day ™ was issued to Greshun De Bouse by the Honorable Mayor Skip Henderson of Columbus, GA-home of the legendary Fort Benning, one of the Top 5 Largest Military Bases in the United States! Greshun De Bouse recently appeared on WTVM News 9 talking about the holiday, and will appear on various additional media outlets in the coming days! Though everyone everywhere celebrates Disabled Veterans Day™ nationwide on June 30, the official holiday celebration is expected to be held in Columbus, GA on June 30, 2019 at 1:00 pm (venue TBA). The day should consist of increased awareness of disabled veterans’ unique set of challenges concerning service-related disabilities and proposed solutions to expediting the determination and disability benefit issuance process. In addition, lots of funds will be raised for disabled veterans.

On Tuesday, July 2, 2019-just after Disabled Veterans Day™ and right before Independence Day, all persons eating at Texas Roadhouse in Columbus, GA will be happy a portion of their meal totals will go to the fund for Disabled Veterans Day™! In addition, IHop restaurant locations in Columbus, GA and surrounding areas have expressed interest in a potential similar fundraising effort on Thursday, June 27, 2019, leading up to the big day on June 30!
