- Freedom is important but you still need law and order.
- Religions sometimes offer freedom.
- You can get out of politics only temporarily for a few moments during prayer.
Politics can be religious political like in theocracy. Politics can be secular like in democracy. Israel today is a democracy but in the past the biblical nation of Israel was a monarchy a theocracy. The religion of Judaism is based on the Law of Moses for building a theocracy. Theocracy mixes religion and politics.
There is no religion free from politics. Every religion has its clergy who control the religion from the top. There are also the constituents of the religion who are more or less Orthodox. Judaism begins with Orthodox Judaism with complete control over the Jewish nation. Conservative and reformed Judaism release their control more or less. A synagogue whether it is Orthodox, conservative, or reformed has a Rabbi with assistants, a board of directors. This is also true in Catholic, Protestant, and Islamic religion. Every religion has some politics connected to law and order. Reformed religion is the most free. Orthodox religion almost restricts freedom completely.
Religions are like nations. Congregations of religions are small nations. Whether it be a secular nation or a theocracy is needed law and order. To build a nation demands conquering a land. America conquered their land which was occupied by Indians. The Biblical nation of Israel conquered the land of Israel from the nations which inhabited it under the leadership of Joshua. It took many years. America started with thirteen colonies and today has expanded to fifty states. Britain was a great power in the world controlling many nations including Hong Kong, Syria, Palestine, Egypt, Libya, Iraq under the British mandate. The Ottoman Empire was a great empire. Turkey is the remains of the Ottoman Empire. Islam claims to be a nation whose goal is conquering the whole world through its ideology. Israel is a nation whose goal is conquering the land of Israel. Israel’s goal in Judaism is to conquer the land of Israel for the sake of building its holy temple and establishing its Biblical nation with a King. The ideology of Islam is to convert the whole world to believe in Mohammed and the Koran. It may not have to be by force. It is difficult to expect that the whole world including Christians and Jews will become Muslim peacefully.
The Jewish people and the State of Israel control a large portion of the Biblical land of Israel. The remaining portion is occupied by Palestinians and they are not willing to surrender it to Israel peacefully. President Trump is for a two state solution in his peace plan which the world is waiting to be released after Israel elections. Most people feel it is doomed from the start. The Palestinians boycotted Bahrain when Jared Kushner invited them to attend the meetings.
The United Nations consists of nations in the world which have sovereignty over their land. Each nation is ideally given the right to rule the land it occupies. In some places in the world there are border conflicts. Other nations like Venezuela there is civil war. Yemen is in the middle of civil war. Hong Kong is in the middle of a crisis. India and Pakistan have not come to a peace over Kashmir. Each nation is concerned over its National Security. It has also the work to provide its people with their living needs which are livelihood, health, and education. Religion is only a part of life in almost all nations. In Iran religion is the nation and the life of the people. In Israel it is only part of the life but interwoven in the law of the State of Israel are connection to its heritage. Sabbath is a day off from work. Jewish Holidays are national holidays. Laws of marriage, divorce, and conversion are governed by the Orthodox rabbinate.
Every nation and every religion is protected by its laws. Nations and religions are governed by their leaders. The leaders watch over the nations. Leaders are appointed through elections or through lineage as was the case in Judaism. Every nation or religion is at war with its opponents. Orthodox Judaism is at war with reformed Judaism or secular Zionism. Catholicism is controlled by the Pope in Vatican City. Protestant Christianity differs from Catholic. There are many sects within religions just like there are many nations in the world. Religion is interwoven in politics more or less. Religion which are theocracy like Judaism and Islam are completely political. Religions can only preach freedom for their constituents to be good Catholics, good Protestants, good Jews, and good Muslims. Freedom in religion is limited. Religion requires for people to be soldiers of their faith. Christians are called missionaries. Muslim are missionaries. Orthodox Jewry is on a mission to control the nation of Israel even to control the State of Israel. To be a soldier requires alertness. Religion is sometimes called the Queen of faith. Orthodox religion enlists people to guard the castle of the Queen. See the picture above of the Guarding Buckingham Palace. A guard is not allowed to sleep on duty. The most religious Orthodox are praised for their work as guards of the Queen Faith that they do not sleep on duty. In Judaism the biggest and most important commandment is the learning of Torah which is day and night. Neglecting the learning of the Torah even for a moment is considered a big sin. Orthodox religious cannot remove themselves from politics even for one moment. They learn the law of their religion day and night which is also the law of the Biblical Nation of Israel. They are soldiers of their faith. Torah Scholars are guardians of biblical Israel.
Secular people have broken off from religion. They have rebelled against their faith Christian, Islam, Jewish. Many secular people have joined other movements and ideologies like Communism, socialism, LGBT, secular Zionism, humanitarian way like George Seros. Many people need to work for a cause. They cannot remove themselves from politics. Every one of these movements are religions in different ways. According to the devotion of people to the causes they believe in makes them Orthodox in their cause, conservative or reformed. The leaders of the movements are the most Orthodox secularist. People can even be willing to give their lives for their cause or ideology or their nation. This is in the nature of a human being to want to join a cause or ideology to be part of a group or to lead a group. The leaders of groups enlist followers. They are missionaries and encourage their followers to be missionaries.
Everyone has their own beliefs and convictions which are important to them in their lives. Politics is almost the whole life. People don’t want to remove themselves from politics. There is a way to remove yourself from politics even from religion through connecting to faith which transcends this world of politics.
Religion keeps a person busy. Working for a livelihood keeps a person busy. Marriage and building a family keeps a person busy. There are many types of obligations in life. Religion is obligation. Staying healthy watching over your health is another obligation. Growing in education is an obligation. Supporting yourself and your family is an obligation. There are obligations which all people accept and obligation which only some people accept like religion. In a theocracy religion is an obligation you have no free choice. In a democracy it is with free choice. President Trump signed to veto the Johnson Amendment to give more power and freedom to religion. He believes in religion and feels religions are no threat to the American society.
There is an obligation which God gave to every person which is to find freedom. Freedom is hidden under all the obligation of life. Freedom is literally free of politics, free of racism. It is hard to escape from racism. It is sometimes easier to along with racism because it is in everyone’s nature to be racist. A mother and father cannot avoid being racist when it comes to their children. Black Americans may favor black Americans. Muslims favor Muslims. Jews favor Jews. Christians favor Christians. Americans in Israel enjoy living in an American Israel society. Racism and politics go together. Each political party tries to get more support for its candidates.
Freedom today is in the news. In Soviet Union freedom was suppressed. The Soviet Union fell in 1991 to become a free state. The people of Hong Kong want freedom from Communist China. The desire for freedom is a desire to be free from racism to separate from politics as much as possible. Religion talks a lot about the importance of freedom. Religions may claim to offer freedom to mankind. ISIS preaches freedom and enlists people in their army. The same with all religions. All religions are army’s, missionaries of truth. They all claim to be the only way. This is politics is religion. You can separate religion from politics by finding freedom which is a gift from God.
Baha”i is a religion today which makes it easier to find freedom for those that study their texts. Baha”i as a religion is not free; it only brings freedom closer. Progressive Jewish Spirituality has added to Baha”i additional strength to help mankind escape from politics; to escape from racism. There is a way to find freedom; there is a Messiah who gives freedom. Religion is important because it is the beginning of faith. It also maintains and sustains faith. When you find freedom, the Messiah of freedom you do not leave religion. This is the truth of Baha”i and PJS http://progressivejewishspirituality.net/. When the Soviet Union fell and became Russia the free nation, it did not leave politics completely just changed over to democracy. Freedom is important, but you need law and order.
Picture: President Trump cancels the Johnson Amendment emphasizing the importance of religion in a free society.
The Guard of the Buckingham Palace – The Guard watches over the palace of the Queen. The clergy watch over their religion which is their Queen called the divine presence. When you are on guard you have no freedom even to move. Israel secular society is against the rigidness of Orthodox Judaism. They are afraid of losing their freedom.
