In response to Israel missile attacks on Iran depots in Iraq, there was an attempted Iranian aerial attack from Syrian territory. Israel foiled two killer drones in an unprecedented aerial attack. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran is widening. Israel made a public announcement that they had bombed Iranian militia in Iraq and also that they had thwarted a planned attack from Syrian soil on Israel.
Saturday night Israel airplanes struck targets near Damascus in order to foil an attempt by Iranian Revolutionary Guards Al Quds force to carry out a terror attack from Syrian soil. The attack was to be carried out by drones sent from Syria to hit Israeli targets. Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu held security consultations at the Defense Ministry headquarters in Tel Aviv Saturday night.
Israel intelligence had monitored the planned attack for several months. On Thursday they bombed Iran-backed militias in Syria that were making an advanced attempt to execute the plan. Then again on Saturday night fighter jets bombed targets near Damascus to foil this attempt.
Netanyahu is quoted as saying that the Israel actions are part of the right of a nation to defend itself from aggressors, even to be the aggressor when necessary. He called the strike by IAF planes a “Major operational effort.” He said Iran has no immunity anywhere. He said, “If someone rises to kill you, you kill him first.”
The failed terror attack was to be Tehran’s response to the alleged Israeli strikes on Iranian missile depots in Iraq. The missiles were apparently meant to be transferred from Iraq to Iranian allies in Syria and Lebanon. The attacks had been carried out by Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles and Iran planned a similar attack using drones.
A Hezbollah official reported on Sunday that an Israeli drone went down over the Lebanese capital of Beirut and another exploded in the air. A large explosion shook the area in Southern Lebanon and triggered a fire. The Israeli late night airstrike on Syria was the heaviest and most intense attacks by Israel in several years.

This occurred while a festival was taking place and the people were hit with shock and fear not able to find cover. Four thousand people were attending the festival.
