Demonstrators in Hong Kong launched an “Airport Traffic Stress Test” on Saturday, but the demonstrators failed to assemble at the airport because the Hong Kong police were waiting and blocking them. From Saturday afternoon into the night, Hong Kong demonstrators clashed with police at various subway stations and several people were arrested.

On Sunday, demonstrators marched until they reached the US consulate in Hong Kong. Some people held the American flag, sang the American national anthem, and asked the US’ President Donald Trump to “resist Beijing, liberate Hong Kong.”

Protests in Hong Kong have been ongoing since March 31 against a now-withdrawn bill by the Legislative Council which would have allowed extradition of residents to mainland China. More than 2,100 have been injured and 1,117 arrested since protests began. Eight people have died, all were suicides.

The organizers said that on Sunday, the parade will go to the US Consulate at 2:30 pm, and hand over a joint book. The organizers said that the event has received a notice of no objection from the Hong Kong police, and called on the participating people not to carry out damage around the consulate, to keep calm, and restrain themselves in the event of a conflict.
