- The Band is very excited about performing at Randy Now's Man Cave in New Jersey.
- Randy's is not just your usual record store.
- People come from all over to see the musical performances.
When you think of record stores you never think of a concert performance hall. Randy Now’s Man Cave is a rare find. Located at 134 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown, N.J. The Man Cave is a pop culture store, a vinyl record store, a CD & DVD shop, with sodas, Charles Chips, candy, gum and toys. All of the above and much much more.
People come from all over not just to buy records but to see great musical performances like Melanie, Midge Ure and the list goes on and on. On October 27, Resurrection of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins Band will be in town to perform at Randy Now’s Man Cave. They performed at the PhilaMOCA in Philadelphia to an almost sold out show. The band is very excited to be performing at this unique venue.
“This should be very exciting for us,” says Mike Armando who was the guitarist back in the 70’s for Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. “It is so great having people like Randy who keep music a live. This is what it’s all about the music.”
Mike is also very excited about the new book release which just came out in July by author Steve Bergsman entitled I Put A Spell On You: The Bizarre Life of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. Mike was interviewed by Steve about his crazy days playing with the Hawkins Band for his new book that also contains memories from other musical artists, family and friends of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. The book is getting some great reviews. I asked Mike how did the Resurrection of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins Band get started. Mike said, “When the book was being written I was saying to myself: ‘people not only will love to read this new book but why not have them see and hear what Screamin’ Jay Hawkins music was all about and see for themselves the crazy shock rock performances he did.'”
The Resurrection of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins Band performs live shows taking you back in time to the music of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. This project is comprised of extremely talented and seasoned musicians. This project creates a time machine to one of Rock’n’Roll’s wild men. A show you will surly remember for many years to come.
Mike said finding the right person to portray Hawkins was very hard until he met the talented singer/actor Shakar “TheRealShakar”Brumfield. When people hear him sing they will know what I mean. He is a great singer. The rest of the band is Tim Price on sax, a great sax player who will be performing at the Exit Zero Jazz Festival on November 9th & 10th.
The rest of the band– Andrew Golba on bass and Gene Linefsky on drums– and myself on guitar will be backing up Tim Price at the jazz festival. Click here for more information on Randy Now’s Man Cave & the Resurrection of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins Band Concert.
