- Russia made a tweet Friday pertaining to the White Helmets with accusations of terrorism.
- The death is highly suspicious as he fell from the window.
- Rarely are there such coincidences.
British national James Le Mesurier was found dead in Istanbul, Turkey. He was known to be affiliated with the White Helmets, officially known as the Syria Civil Defense, a volunteer organization that operates in parts of opposition-controlled Syria and in Turkey, founded in the 2014. Le Mesurier was a former MI-6 officer, the foreign intelligence service of the government of the United Kingdom, tasked mainly with covert overseas collection and analysis of human intelligence (HUMINT) in support of the UK’s national security. NETFLIX has a documentary pertaining to The White Helmets.
The cause of death has not been released. However, according to Reuters, James Le Mesurier was found dead outside his window. Interestingly, Maria Zacharova publicly accused James Le Mesurier of terrorism sympathizing in Syria. Her tweet demanded answers from the British Government on Friday, November 8, 2019. Zakharova is the Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Le Mesurier finished the elite British academy and spent close to 30 years in UK defense and NATO. He served in Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq and Libya. The White Helmets organization is also actively involved in Mogadishu, locally known as Xamar or Hamar, the capital and most populous city of Somalia.
In 2016 Scott Ritter, who was a former US Marine and United Nations weapons inspector in Iraq from 1991 to 1998, wrote an article about James Le Mesurier’s background. The article links Le Mesurier to the Qatari branch of the Red Crescent Society, established in 1978. It became the first philanthropic organization in Qatar to establish a women’s branch in 1982.
Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) is headquartered in Doha, but the organization works throughout the country. Scott Ritter insinuated the funding of the White Helmets also came from Qatar and some of the nations from the Arab League. Hence, they could be paid to cause further destabilization in the Middle East by interested parties. Le Mesurier did work for private defense contractors with the dark histories during his lifetime as well.
Moreover, Russian blogger Maxfux claims one of the major players in the White Helmets is the wife of Ayman Asfari, a Syrian-born British businessman, and the chief executive of Petrofac, a Jersey-registered multinational oilfield services company serving the oil, gas and energy production and processing industries.
Immediately after all these announcements and Maria Zacharova’s tweet, James Le Mesurier was found dead from falling from the window. An officer with his type of training would not just accidentally fall from the window. The coincidence and Russian commentary could lead one to consider possible Russian involvement in his death. Russian President Vladimir Putin backs Syrian President Bashir Assad, and the White Helmets would be a possible issue for Russian geopolitical ambitions. Rarely are there such coincidences, but it is possible James Le Mesurier had other enemies.
