Amazon Delivery Failure

  • Amazon is the largest online marketplace.
  • There are over 100 million infected with the Coronavirus.
  • The package delivery is an epic fail through Amazon.

Amazon allows the customer to have an option of purchasing the prime membership on the monthly or the annual bases to get the Amazon prime perks. The costs for an adult is close tot the $14 dollars per month.  The perks include unlimited prime 2 day shipping on the large selection of the items including products from Whole Foods.

Amazon also has a grocery delivery through the Whole Foods stores they own. Whole Foods Market, Inc. is an American multinational supermarket chain headquartered in Austin, Texas, which sells products free from hydrogenated fats and artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives.

Whole Foods, A USDA Certified Organic grocer in the United States, the chain is popularly known for its organic selections. The items can be ordered directly through the amazon website. Nevertheless, he Amazon logistics service continues to decline.

The Coronavirus pandemic continues to spread around the world. Currently, there are over 102 million infected and over 2.2 deaths around the globe. Therefore, the lockdowns continue in the many countries. As a result, the online sales have soared. Amazon is the largest e-commerce platform in the world., Inc. is an American multinational technology company based in Seattle, Washington, which focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. The convenience factor and the Covid-19 pandemic made me order majority of the goods online.

The Highlights of the Past Two Weeks

One of my orders included a manicure set that I did not order, instead it should have been the dog treats. The manicure set in the hard metal case actually crushed dog treats as the items were packaged in the plastic Amazon envelope.

The item had to be refunded and there was no option for the reordering. Therefore, I had to place an order through another platform. In addition, there is also a question of the blatant disregard for the environment with the plastic non recyclable packaging the items arrived in.

The second order was not delivered on the day it was scheduled. I got the notification that the item was out for the delivery. However, the item never arrived, instead the prompt appeared stating that the driver did not know how to get into the building, Even though it is a large building and the buzzer code is provided on the account.

The logistics team called 2 hours later, stating that my order would be redelivered the following day. Interestingly, there are full instructions on the account, which are quite simple, use the buzz code to get into the building and leave the packages at the mail room. There is no need to even deliver the package to the door.

The next order shown delivered, but the item was nowhere to be found in my building. Upon, going to the another building, I located my package across the street and all the packages were just dumped in the giant plastic yellow bin with the Amazon logo and the items were not sorted or even taken out. These containers are used by the Amazon drivers to take the packages to the building and should be taken out and left in the mail room. Fortunately, in my case the item was found.

The multiple items order arrived and was left in the lobby, but the packaging was damaged and it almost looked like the package was ether kicked or dropped, as it had a dent in the metal container.

Overall, it is clear, Amazon does not care about the customers or fails to address the logistics issues they are having with their drivers. I think there should be other alternatives to the Amazon marketplace. Otherwise, the packages would not be delivered and mishandled. Each time calling Amazon, the response was always they are sorry, it wont happen again, yet the incidents continue with the same frequency.
