A Russian court in the Rostov region sentenced a scientist from Novocherkassk, Alexey Temerev, to 7.5 years in a high-security prison for high treason. The case is classified. Nevertheless, upon doing research about the company Temerev owned, I learned he was an intern from Vietnam. However, Vietnam is not known for stealing classified defense sensitive information in Russia.
Also, according to the official version, Temerev himself contacted the FSB in 2018 asking permission to sell classified information. Such would be a complete paradox. Also the timing itself is very peculiar. The last wave of convictions shows Putin’s personal interest in gagging a myriad of people ahead of the vote to amendment the Russian Constitution.
Overall, Temerev is connected to nearly 46 patents. I took a closer look at the patent database and what patents the Russian scientist held that could be used in the defense sector:

SUBSTANCE: proposed gear has manual winch with antenna cable, stuffing box with cutoff valve and cable machine with frame; mounted on this frame is grip unit with roller holders and toothed belts fitted on smooth pulleys and engageable with toothed belts connected with drive for motion of antenna cable. Invention can be used for uninterrupted electric power supply of high-stable voltage of 27 V DC and 220 V of alternating sine-wave high-quality current with frequency of 50 Hz of various responsible consumers on submarine, as well as on other objects (movable and stationary, industrial and military purpose), the EPS of which include two independent networks of generation and distribution of electric power with DC voltage. In the proposed electric power system there provided is reliable protection of consumers against impact of pulse high-voltage switching overvoltages appearing in ship’s networks of generation and distribution of DC voltage, there implemented is reliable galvanic isolation of load from supply mains, and by means of microcontroller control systems of power equipment of dc-to-dc voltage converter and dc-to-ac voltage converter; there provided is complete independence of quality properties of output voltages (27 V DC and 220 V of alternating sine-wave current) on the load from parametres of supply mains at maintaining operability at least of one of supply mains. EFFECT: wider functional capabilities of the device due to possibility of recording parametres of transient processes of variation of voltage and current in electrical networks during accidents, as well as in time intervals before emergency situations.
Taking a closer look at his biography and his patents and interests in the field, it is plausible to believe his work was geared towards submarines. What is even more peculiar: even though court proceedings released minimal information claiming that he was President of the Mechatronica, in reality the patents held pertaining to submarines are all under IRIS, which is registered in Russia and specifically does work for the Russian defense sector.
Looking at the information and comparing the patents overall, and the parties listed on them, it is plausible to believe Alexey Temerev was silenced as he would have had access to information pertaining to Losharik.
Russian Project 210, Project 10831 or AS-31, nicknamed Losharik, is a Russian deep-diving nuclear powered submarine. On 1 July 2019, a fire broke out on the vessel while it was taking underwater measurements of the sea floor in Russian territorial waters. There were mass casualties and elite servicemen died on the vessel. The information was later removed in Russia and no further announcements have been made.
Now this conviction of the scientist. This is an eerie reflection of the Soviet Era when physicists were put in prison and worse. This case seems to follow the same trajectory and has a plausible connection to Losharik. People with information about that disaster could be detrimental to the Kremlin, if ever, they released or leaked what really happened and the use of that submarine.
