Mr. Kidus Mehalu is the Co-Founder & Executive Director of Teachings of Entrepreneurship on Antipoverty Movement(TEAM), which aims to improve lives through the promotion of entrepreneurship, values of economic freedom, and foundations of a decent society. Since 2013, Kidus run a variety of forums for discussion, dialogue & exchange of ideas on individual liberty, limited government, human rights & policies of development for furthering the cause of a free society in Ethiopia. Kidus has been served as a regional strategic adviser for Students for Liberty to promote its mission of educating, developing, and empowering the next generation of leaders for social change in Ethiopia. From May 2017 to October 2019, Kidus was appointed and served as a Director for African Union Affairs, Regional Economic Communities(RECs), NEPAD and UN agencies at theAfrican Youth Commission(www.auyc.org); a Pan-African youth network determined and committed to promote the involvement of young people as key partners in the implementation of the Africa 2063 Agenda, support advocacy actions on the ratification and implementation of the African Youth Charter and contribute to advancing youth development in Africa. He was also the Ethiopia representative for the International Youth Federation from 2018 to 2019.
In the academic vein, Kidus obtained Bachelor of Business Administration(BBA) degree in 2008 from Curtin University(WA). He also got his graduate diploma in International Business from FUNDESEM Business School in 2009 in Spain and completed his course in the Philosophical, Moral, Political, Legal, Economic, and Institutional Foundations of Liberty as a Frederic Bastiat Scholar from CATO Institute (USA) in 2012. Based on his story of success, the Canadian songwriter & singer Lindy Vopnfjörð did a song called “Force of Nature” dedicated to Kidus & his good efforts for the social well-being of his community, country, and the region as well.
