After seven days in institutional quarantine, the 12 Cuban doctors on duty in Angola’s Lunda-Norte province started working yesterday in the 10 municipalities in the province. The municipality of Chitato, headquarters of the province of Lunda-Norte, and home to the most people, received two doctors. Other municipalities received one specialist each.
At least 109 people have died in the Dominican Republic as a result of drinking clerén, a drink made from sugar cane and fermented fruits. Experts have explained that the drink has got a high methanol content, which can lead to subsequent contamination. The victims ingested the drink believing that it is an effective remedy against the coronavirus.

In addition to assistance, and 30 tons of support material, including medicines, Cuban specialists in several areas will also train national staff, Prensa Latina says.

Bolivia’s interim government has issued an arrest warrant against the nation’s former President, Evo Morales. The former head of state is accused by the country’s current regime of alleged sedition as well as terrorism-related accusations. Cuba has imposed a general price control plan on Tuesday for all state and private companies in the midst of a deepening economic crisis and increasing US sanctions. The new measures prohibit the rise in prices in retail and wholesale trade, except for products imported and distributed by the State, where current profit margins cannot be increased.
