The 2020 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) opened on the 7th in Las Vegas. Japanese technology giant Sony Corporation exhibited its first pure electric concept model at the exhibition. At the same time, Sony CEO Yoshida Kenichiro also announced that Sony officially entered the electric vehicle technology field. This electric vehicle, called Vision-S, brings together many of today’s cutting-edge technologies, including 33 sensors, multiple widescreen displays, 360-degree audio, lidar, and cameras.
According to reports, Vision-S was created by Sony in collaboration with leaders in various industries, some of which are from manufacturers such as BlackBerry and Bosch. In addition, the Vision-S interior instrument panel uses an integrated screen, which not only clearly displays driving information, but also enables entertainment activities. “I believe that the development of mobility will also redefine the car as a new entertainment space,” said Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida.

Hyundai Motor Group has proposed three types of mobile travel solutions: urban air travel, personalized custom models, and a central hub that integrates transportation and community activities.
At the same time, Hyundai Motors released the PAV (“Personal Aircraft”) concept car, which was named “e-A1”, with a pair of wings and four propellers. It is mainly dedicated to solving congestion and public facilities in future big cities. Hyundai Motor hopes to take advantage of the mobility in the air to greatly reduce the transportation time, and to bring passengers a comfortable and safe driving environment by combining the aerodynamics of the vehicle and the interior cabin design.
Because personal aircraft can take off and land vertically, it brings a way of urban air travel without a runway. In addition, Japan’s Toyota Motor announced during the exhibition that it plans to build a prototype of a “future city” at the foot of Mount Fuji to enter a broader industrial layout with a behavioral cut. The city will be powered by hydrogen energy batteries and will become a testing ground for technologies such as self-driving cars, “smart homes,” and artificial intelligence. Toyota did not disclose the exact cost of the project. Construction of the project is scheduled to begin next year, and several executives said they have conducted a large-scale investigation and budgeted.
