Professor Munir Adeeb, an expert in extremist movements and international terrorism in the Arab Republic of Egypt, praised the UAE’s experience in facing extremist organizations, foremost of which is the Muslim Brotherhood. He called on the international community to take advantage of this unique experience and build on it and try circulate it in a way that suits the rest of societies. They must also realize the nature of Islamic organizations and confront them by confronting the mother group, the Muslim Brotherhood.
Adeeb’s lecture today was entitled “The Danger of Islamic Groups on the Intellectual, Military, and Homeland National Security,” and was organized by the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi. It was attended by Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi, Director of the Center and a group of media, intellectuals and interested on the risks represented by violent groups.
“The Islamic extremism that exists in our Arab region over our homelands, and what it represents is a real threat to national security,” said Adeeb. He said risks go beyond the views of these organizations, warning that their danger is not limited to the security of the homeland, but exceeds that of Islamic doctrine that is offended by these terrorist organizations.
He affirmed that the Muslim Brotherhood is the most dangerous Islamic organization, as it is the mother of all extremist organizations. This includes Al Qaeda, Takfir wal-Hijra, Islamic Jihad, and the Islamic Armed Group, as well as ISIS and others. This imposes a general perception to face this danger that all Arab capitals participate in the fight against these terrible groups. Arab states’ basic premise is a comprehensive confrontation of all organizations, in order to block the path of their development and mutual support between these organizations.
The lecturer drew attention to the fact that among the most important mistakes made in some Arab and non-Arab regimes, many Islamic organizations had believed in the intellectual and juristic reviews, while the truth confirms that these organizations did not review their ideas but only retreated. The Muslim Brotherhood raised from the chaos in Egypt when it succeeded in reaching power, and over the course of a whole year where it worked to spread chaos in various areas. The society saw the events of the opening of some prisons and the smuggling of its members, which was proven by the investigations of the Public Prosecution in Egypt and condemned by leaders of the group.
Adeeb called for redoubling efforts to confront Islamic organizations, setting the first scenarios for this confrontation so that they are all-inclusive without exception, and criminalizing the use and exploitation of Islamic organizations by imposing legal and economic sanctions on countries that provide safe havens for them, so that they are surrounded by the security and, and then dismantle their ideas that pose a threat to the security of the world because they spread extremist ideas and terrorist practices that harm security, stability and societal peace.
