Greshun De Bouse Harrassed, MAGA Hat Stolen – Asks Kanye and Candace For Help

  • Greshun De Bouse says she has been bullied and harrassed horribly for any real or perceived support of President Trump.
  • In an MSNBC interview, Maxine Waters encouraged Trump supporter harrassment by stating stated "They're gonna protest, they're gonna absolutely harrass them (Trump supporters/affiliates) until they decide they're gonna tell the President no I can't hang with you."
  • De Bouse says "I reached out to Kanye and Candace because I think they can relate to being Americans of Color and my predictament, and be of assistance."

Trusted Equality Advocate Greshun De Bouse made history as the only American of Color seen seated left of President Trump (facing television screen) in his VIP section as he spoke at Keep America Great Rally-Tupelo, MS in late 2019. However, Greshun says she has been bullied and harassed horribly for any real or perceived support of President Trump.

At the Tupelo Rally, Greshun, like Kanye West, dons her red MAGA hat while flashing her winning smile just a day or so after receiving a proclamation from Tupelo, MS Mayor Shelton for the holiday she founded-Disabled Veterans Day (June 30).

Her MAGA hat and sign were recently stolen by who Greshun believes is a family of Caucasians who recently harassed her.  But Greshun is not playing any games; she is asking superstar Kanye West and brilliant political activist Candace Owens (Farmer) for help. When asked why she chose to reach out to Kanye and Candace for help with this, Greshun had this to say:

I reached out to Kanye and Candace because I think they can relate to being Americans of Color and my predicament, and be of assistance.  Their platforms can help bring greater awareness to the prevailing issue of bullying and discrimination on basis of political affiliation.

My MAGA hat was given to me and it symbolized a defining moment of inclusivity by President Trump in my life. I know Candace is opposed to bullying, and of course I am as founder of #mtfmoveday, and I am tired of the bullying quite frankly.  Enough is enough.

I have been bullied horribly and told because I am an American of Color I have to vote a certain way or support a certain candidate. My voter registration change has been denied repeatedly, and any real or perceived support of President Trump is met with harassment, threats, and more.

Now my historic MAGA hat and signage have been stolen. This is too much. I have the right to support who I want politically without threats, harassment, and the like.

This is why I take issue with Rep. Maxine Waters inciting and perpetuating harassment of Trump supporters/affiliates with her commentary. At one rally, Waters stated “If you see anyone from that cabinet (speaking of President Trump’s cabinet) at a restaurant, at a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you tell them they’re not welcome.”  In addition, in an MSNBC interview, Waters stated “The people are gonna turn on them, they’re gonna protest, they’re gonna absolutely harass them (Trump supporters/affiliates) until they decide they’re gonna tell the President no I can’t hang with you.” This is precisely the type of criminal harassment I abhor, and after which legal consequences should ensue.

This is harassment with a discriminatory impetus maliciously targeting an individual and/or group for their political affiliation. For the record, President Trump has been instrumental in criminal justice reform CJR, improved employment conditions for Americans of Color, and he is seemingly often misunderstood (something to which I can relate) with his statements taken out of original context to fit an adverse agenda.

It matters not how another feels about my choice of a political candidate, and though I have received a great amount of support for my unwaivering stance, there have been persons/groups-Caucasians and Americans of Color-who want me to conform to their norm of voting a certain way because of my ethnicity.

“Candace Owens (Farms) and I are alike in that way I believe. No one dictates to me how I live my life.”

This is blatant ignorance. It is disheartening that in 2020 in the land of the free, persons are discriminated against for political affiliation and hindered from selecting/supporting the the political party of their choice. However, when I believe in something or someone, I am for sure unwaivering and unapologetic.

Candace Owens (Farms) and I are alike in that way I believe. No one dictates to me how I live my life. That’s why it is mine-not theirs. I want my MAGA hat returned by the thieves who stole it because they thought it sport and  take issue with any American of Color who doesn’t feel inclined to support a democrat on that basis I believe.

If persons had been told publicly by Maxine Waters to target and harass Obama supporters, there would be a national outcry from the American of Color community.

Candace was harassed verbally and physically by anti-Trumpers in a restaurant while merely trying to enjoy breakfast. Had she been an Obama supporter, the level of outrage from the American of Color community would be different.

I make such statements to indicate the need for equality in anti-discrimination and anti-harassment for all-irrespective of political party affiliation. Ultimately, this is about something bigger. Awareness and halt must be brought to discrimination on the basis of political affiliation.

We will have more on this story as it develops.
