Happy Independence Day – July 4, 2019 – God Bless America

  • Before America could become an Independent nation they had to fight the American Revolutionary War that took place from 1775-1783.
  • America began on Independence Day. Like every nation, each day and each year there is a struggle for survival requiring national security both internally and externally.
  • The earth is full today. Over seven billion people live on the earth in the many nations of the world.

America today is celebrating Independence Day.  The nation was established July 1776 when the Continental Congress declared the thirteen American colonies were no longer subject to the monarch of Britain and now were united and independent states.

Before America could become an Independent nation they had to fight the American Revolutionary War that took place from 1775-1783. With the assistance of France the American colonial pioneers signed the Declaration of Independence and won their independence.

US Secession map 1861. The American Civil War (also known by other names) was a civil war fought in the United States from 1861 to 1865. War broke out in April 1861 when secessionist forces attacked Fort Sumter in South Carolina shortly after Abraham Lincoln had been inaugurated as the President of the United States.

Throughout the history of America is recorded several wars which were part of the expansion of the country until today when there are 50 states. Most well-known is the American Civil War of 1861-1865. In the Civil War, America was divided into two parts the Union (in the north) and the Confederacy (in the south).  The Civil War began primarily as a result of the long standing controversy over enslavement of black Africans. At this time there were 34 states in the Union.  Seven of these southern slave states seceded from the country forming a confederate rebellion against the U.S. constitutional government.  The victory overseen by President Abraham Lincoln preserved U.S. territorial integrity and abolished slavery.  The Republicans passed the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments to the constitution which gave equal rights to all Americans.

America is a democratic republic. It is a republic that based on the principle that the supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives. It is democratic because it is a system of government representing the whole population giving them equal rights under the constitution. The first ten amendments of the constitution also called the Bill of Rights describe the categories of freedom given to the citizens of America including Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Assembly……

America began on Independence Day. Like every nation, each day and each year there is a struggle for survival requiring national security both internally and externally. This is its 243th anniversary.

Christopher Columbus (before 31 October 1451 – 20 May 1506) was an Italian explorer, navigator, and colonist who completed four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean under the auspices of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain. He led the first European expeditions to the Caribbean, Central America, and South America, initiating the permanent European colonization of the Americas. Columbus discovered the viable sailing route to the Americas, a continent that was then unknown to the Old World. While what he thought he had discovered was a route to the Far East, he is credited with the opening of the Americas for conquest and settlement by Europeans.

Each nation is a government which occupies a land in the continents on the earth: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, Australia.  America was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492 but it was already inhabited by Indians.  New Zealand is considered the last major land mass settled by humans 750 years ago.

Biblical history begins in the area of the Middle East.  Egypt was a powerful nation under the leadership of Pharaoh.  The nation of Israel began as a family of the twelve sons of Jacob who lived in Israel and moved to Egypt at the time of a famine.  The Jews lived in Egypt for 210 years. For many of these years they were persecuted by the Egyptians and put to work to build the storehouses of the king Pisson and Ramsas with brutal labor.

Joshua took the Jews into the land of Israel approximately in 1406 BC after wandering 40 years in the Sinai Wilderness. Like all other nations they had to conquer the land.  Until the land was conquered by King David it took over 400 years.  When the Kingship of Israel had complete sovereignty over the land King Solomon built in Jerusalem the holy temple about the year 970 BC.  They had sovereignty over the land until it was conquered by the Babylonians 597 BC.

The Nation of Israel stood for over four hundred years.  All the kings had to fight battles throughout its history to protect the nation until the Babylonians conquered the land. In the middle of this period in Jewish history, after the death of King Solomon, the nation split into two parts: Judah and Israel.  The Israel part was conquered by the Assyrians in 722 BC.  The nation of Israel lasted over two hundred years. Today the new state of Israel was founded on May 14, 1948. During the time of the exile the Jewish people survived as a people following the laws of their religion.

The only period in the history of the world when there was peace was in the time that Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden.  After they sinned, were cast out, and had two children Kain and Abel, wars began.  The first battle was between Cain and Abel because of jealousy recorded in Genesis.  As populations multiplied and mankind divided up into family units and tribes, wars started over control of portions of the earth. God gave a blessing to Adam and Eve “Be fruitful and multiply fill the whole earth.”  The earth is full today. Over seven billion people live on the earth in the many nations of the world.

Today July 4, is Independence Day.  America, a sovereign republic, lives and exists on the earth with the rest of the nations and populations of the world.  A nation is a separate sovereign unit.  No nation can claim complete independence because each nation shares the world with other nations.  A nation has not only an obligation to its own people but also to the whole world.  World Unity and Peace is one goal for humanity.  The other goal is for each person to enrich his life to discover the meaning of life.  Every nation in the history of the world had its beginning and end. Many nations have begun again and are rebuilding.  Likewise with each individual person his life begins on his birthday and everyone has the opportunity to discover the essence of life.  Life is temporary, every moment of life is valuable.  The work of building life is great and rewarding.  God promises to give a reward in the afterlife.
