Iran to Aid Armenia in the Nagorno Karabakh Conflict

  • The Azerbaijani military attacked Iranian settlements and cities located near the border of Azerbaijan.
  • Erdogan asked Russia and France to not interfere in the conflict.
  • Russian mercenaries will be aiding Armenia.

Iran declared its intention to support Armenia and began transferring tanks and artillery. The Iranian defense Ministry has begun an emergency transfer of its artillery and heavy armored vehicles to the border with Azerbaijan, preparing to support Armenia if necessary. We know about the transfer of at least two dozen field howitzers and three dozen T-72 tanks to the borders of Azerbaijan.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is a Turkish politician serving as the 12th and current President of Turkey.

One of the reasons for such actions on the part of Tehran is the fact that the Azerbaijani military over the past few days attacked Iranian settlements and cities located near the border of Azerbaijan.

The transfer of military equipment will be a call for Baku to abandon any idea of attacking Iranian territory, and in this regard, Iran is significantly superior to its neighboring state.

Iranian military equipment is being transfered to the borders of Azerbaijan, while there is also some data on the deployment of medium-range air defense systems in this direction in the event of Baku’s use of combat aircraft.

At the moment, the Iranian military is not taking any military actions against Baku, however, in the event of the slightest escalation of the situation, they will be ready to “clean up” the territory at a distance of several tens of kilometers, which, according to some reports, Baku was warned about.

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is a Russian politician and a former officer of the KGB who has served as President of Russia since 2012, previously holding the position from 1999 until 2008.

Iran is loyal to Armenia and is ready to provide assistance to the latter if Yerevan asks for it. If Iran enters the conflict, then Turkey will enter the war on the side of the Azerbaijan. Therefore, it could create even bigger issues for Russia, including the geopolitical impact in the region.

Nevertheless, Russia has not supported Armenia officially, there is information that Russian mercenaries would enter the region to aid Armenia. There is evidence that Syrian contract  fighters have been fighting on behalf of the Azerbaijan.

There are reports that Georgia is not letting through Turkish defense equipment to get to the Nagorno Karabakh to aid the Azerbaijan. The situation continues to be volatile. The fighting has not stopped.

Erdogan asked Russia and France to not interfere in the region. His statement sounds comical. Since when would Putin listen and take orders from Erdogan. The Kremlin would do, what is purely for their benefit.

Erdogan is not a friend of Russia. Presently, Turkey is not very well liked in Europe. The previous provocative actions by Turkey that effected Greece and Mediterranean is not something anyone take lately.

Moreover, the transformation of the St. Sophia into the Mosque has been condemned. There is information that Turks in Russia used one of the Church holy fountains to wash their feet and disrespected the Orthodox religion. The incident is being investigated.

Overall, the Nagorno Karabakh conflict escalation has a different trajectory as the previous ones, including the flare up of the tensions in July. If other players get involved, it could mean a full blown humanitarian crisis.
