- Civil unrest continues throughout the US.
- "The United States of America will be designating ANTIFA as a Terrorist Organization," Trump tweeted.
- ANTIFA Russia is run and supported by Vladislav Surkov, who is a former Assistant to the President of Russia.
George Floyd was a man who died on May 25, after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck for over seven minutes while other officers helped restrain Floyd. The death of Floyd brought back memories of the 2014 death of Eric Garner. Since then, violent protests erupted across US.
Police officers have been stabbed and stores have been looted. US President Donald Trump made a series of tweets on May 31, blaming the violent protests in Minneapolis and other cities in the USA on ANTIFA.
Of the loose association of militant left-wing demonstrators, he declared, “the United States of America will be designating ANTIFA as a Terrorist Organization.” Due to the civil unrest, many cities across the US had to extend curfews and call in the National Guard.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova said, on the YouTube channel Solovyov LIVE, “the murder of an African American in the United States is a real tragedy in the field of human rights, and the protests and riots that broke out against this background cause horror and compassion.”
Russia also stated that US is not a leader in the human rights. Yet, Russia is the nation that has “suspicious” deaths of the Kremlin’s political opponents consistently. The Russian Embassy in Washington, DC condemned US law enforcement using tear gas on protesters. One of the “journalists” of RIA Novosti experienced the effects of the gas disbursed. RIA Novosti is the Kremlin’s official news agency.
Furthermore, this is a presidential election year in US. Russia is poised to cause chaos in the United States. The ANTIFA page on VKontakte, which is Russian version of Facebook, includes Taliban supporters and Anti-US individuals.
ANTIFA Russia is run and supported by Vladislav Surkov, who is a former Assistant to the President of Russia. He was dismissed by Vladimir Putin on February 18, 2020, but has been at the helm of ANTIFA chapter in Russia, since its inception.
Also, it is impossible to be an assistant to Vladimir Putin and run any entity without his blessing. This dismissal occurred, during the Kremlin shuffle in the beginning of the year, coinciding with the announcement of the new Constitution changes. However, the rumor is Surkov was let go to concentrate on the foreign meddling operations, including ANTIFA Russia curating.
Additionally, there are calls on Russian social media platforms for Russian speakers in the US, especially Florida, to mobilize to cause diversion in the US protests. Moreover, it is plausible some of the Russian “journalists” in US are involved in community organizing purposes.
It is a known fact that many foreign intelligence agents use diplomats and journalists as covers for their gatherings and operations.
Russia is meddling into organization and mobilization of the current protests in US.
The goals are:
- To cause division within the US.
- Meddle into the US Presidential Election.
- Cause chaos and instability, especially with the hard-hit economy, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
- Retribution for China and to weaken the US dollar.
- For Putin to advance his geopolitical agenda, during a chaotic time in US, especially in Libya.
Nevertheless, it is clear, there is definitely a Russian imprint in the US civil unrests happening now.
