From January 8 to January 11, the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2020) is being held in Las Vegas. At the meeting, Lenovo brought the world’s first folding screen PC, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold, the world’s first 5G PC, Lenovo YOGA 5G, and many other leading PCs, folding screen mobile phone Motorola Razr and a series of smart devices.
Liu Jun, executive vice president of Lenovo Group, said in an interview with CES that “Lenovo China will have two keywords in 2020, one is acceleration, and the other is ecology.” Liu Jun believes that focusing on the customer, the two transformations of the Center and the Smart Internet of Things will accelerate in the future. Ecology is to break the internal and external boundaries of the enterprise. Openness, integration, and cooperation are important paths to accelerate the implementation of the transformation.
For the first time at the CES exhibition, the cultural and creative elements of the Forbidden City appeared. Lenovo exhibited two co-branded products with the National Wind’s iconic products co-branded with the Cultural and Creative Forbidden City. In the Lenovo exhibition area, there is always a steady stream of visitors to the Forbidden City Cultural and Creative Co-Products area. Some visitors told Liu Jun, “I like this series, it’s too beautiful.”
The in-depth cooperation with the Forbidden City is a representative of Lenovo’s transformation. For the trendy youth in the city, Lenovo develops tailor-made products for them, integrates technology and trends into the product, and adjusts the marketing policy according to their preferences. Lenovo stated that it will continue to cooperate with the IP of the Forbidden City and Women’s Volleyball Team which can represent the spirit of China.
Liu Jun said that in the past two years, Lenovo’s consumer business has made a transformation, which is a customer-centric transformation. In the past two years, Lenovo has completely opened up the online and offline channels, realized the same online and offline prices, and fully adjusted the prices dynamically, allowing consumers to experience the product closer. “It took us two years to fully convert Lenovo’s business model from B to C to a business model that goes directly to C, which is more conducive to our precise customer base.”
“In 2020, Lenovo will continue to accelerate its customer-centric transformation.” Liu Jun revealed that relying on customer-centric transformation, Lenovo has the opportunity to create a new PC market share in China in fiscal 2020, which may reach a 40% market share. In addition, Lenovo’s innovation at the product level has received widespread industry attention. Lenovo this time showcased innovative products such as folding screen computers, the world’s first 5G PC and ink screen computers and once again led the PC industry’s new trends.
Lenovo is not only exploring new ways to use PCs in the future but also actively trying new mobile phone product forms. Lenovo ’s Motorola Razr folding screen phone can make the phone half smaller after being folded, and its portability has been greatly improved. Liu Jun said that the 5G version of Motorola Razr will be listed on the domestic market in the second quarter of 2020.
