- German authorities do not have jurisdiction to launch criminal investigation in the Navalny case.
- Navalny was released from the Charite Clinic.
- Russia is not launching the investigation in the case of Navalny.
German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung published information that German law enforcement agencies can not open a criminal case on the fact of poisoning of Alexey Navalny. Germany can not investigate the Navalny case because it is outside its jurisdiction.
The only way such an investigation could have been plausible, is if Navalny had a serious deterioration of his condition or passed away while in Germany. Nevertheless, Navalny was released from the Charite hospital on September 23rd. Navalny was allegedly poisoned lsat month.
He was transported to the German Charite clinic for treatment and placed in an induced coma. According to the German officials, Navalny was poisoned by the Novichok family of substances. The Russian government released the chronology of the Navalny trip to Tomsk, where the alleged poisoning occurred.
According to the German tests results, Navlany was poisoned by the Novichok agent variant and multiple Western labs confirmed the findings. The remnants of the Novichok substance variant was supposedly found on the water bottle that Navalny drank from in the Xander hotel that he was staying during his trip. The bottle was smuggled by the Navalny member of the entourage.
Moreover, the Kremlin does not see a reason to have an investigation pertaining to the cases of the Navalny poisoning. There are peculiar facts about the case. Within five minutes, the plane with Navalny on board requested an emergency landing in the city of Omsk, the law enforcement received a call related to having a bomb in the airport.
As a result, everyone had to be evacuated from the airport as a precaution. In that case, who would know about the upcoming emergency landing with Navalny on board? There is no such thing as coincidence in this case.
Yet, it is very odd that no criminal case was opened pertaining to the false bomb call. It would be nearly impossible to have a call made from another country. The log would be registered and would be traced by the FSB.
According to the Kremlin’s theory, either it was foreign state actors or Navalny himself who intentionally got himself ill. Neither theory is plausible. All it does is attempt at social engineering propaganda.
Additionally, a bomb call would fall under domestic terrorism charges, and Russia takes those kind of calls very seriously, including stiff prison sentences for such actions. The only hypothetical scenario is that someone did not want Navalny to be saved, and would know that he is in distress and required immediate medical attention.
It might not have been the Kremlin, but someone powerful in Russia, that has access to the Russian government. It is not a surprise that Navalny has been a foe of businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin. Navalny’s Youtube channel wished Prigozhin death and vise versa.
However, words are not the same as actual attempted murder. The unbecoming part about Navalny’s family is the respect of the Omsk doctors, who originally saved his life. As much as it was political, the doctors kept Navalny alive.
There will be no criminal case. If Navalny, in fact returns to Russia, he would be under even more scrutiny of the Russian government and law enforcement.
