UN Rapporteur: Freedom of Expression in Iran is More Restricted

The UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran says freedom of expression in Iran has been curtailed. In his second report in six months, he expressed concern about the impact of sanctions on Iran’s “food and drug safety.” Javid Rahman submitted his second report to the UN General Assembly on Friday and it emphasized that in the past year freedom of expression in Iran has been curtailed and human rights abuses have continued.

General Strike in Hong Kong; Beijing Waits, for Now

Hong Kongers from all walks of life, and seven districts of the city, took to the streets Monday as part of a general strike, the largest such demonstration since 1967.  Teachers and students, aviation workers, finance employees, and civil servants took part in the protests, aimed at both Hong Kong’s pro-Beijing government and mainland China itself.  What initially began as a row over a now-suspended extradition bill has morphed in to a movement against Chinese encroachment, Hong Kong’s non-democratic system, and its unaccountable police force.  Now in their ninth week, and showing no signs of slowing down, some fear Beijing may be compelled to act.

A New Light Shines on Zion and the World

The Lubavitcher Rebbe of blessed memory emphasized in his life that the time of the Messiah has arrived.  The exile called Galut began at the time of the destruction of the holy temple. It was already beginning over four hundred years before when was destroyed the first temple.  The first temple was destroyed because of idolatry. The second temple because of hatred between Jewish brothers. The people of Israel that were dispersed carry with them the Torah with the instructions from Moses to be careful in your application of the law, to continue to teach the Torah, and make a fence around the Torah to protect its holiness. The People of Israel are the representatives of the Torah which is also called the Holy Bible.

Media and Influence – Whose Truth is Reliable?

We are fortunate to live in a country and at a time when we have almost unlimited access to information — political, social and personal through many TV and radio outlets, through newspapers and through the internet. What many of us don’t always take the time to realize is that all of these outlets are businesses who have owners and motives and agendas of their own which do not always reflect truth. These businesses also have advertisers who ultimately have their own agenda which can compromise the objectivity of reporting what is true.

Fourth of July Highlights and Insights – America is Under Attack

America like all nations in the world is fighting for survival.  The difference between America and other nations is that America plays the game according to the rules.  It allows freedom to its people, even to their opponents living with the Christian motto, “Love your enemy.”

In preparation, President Trump encouraged a fantastic event in DC on 4th of July. He said, “We want millions to come to DC for the Fourth of July. We want the people to come who love our country.”

Supreme Court Upholds Cross on Public Land in Maryland – Decision Needs Strengthening

A 40 foot World War I memorial cross can continue to stand on public ground in Maryland, the Supreme Court ruled Thursday in an important 7-2 decision about the use of religious symbols in American life.

The judges said preserving a long-standing religious monument is very different from building a new one. The court said that this doesn’t violate the constitutional prohibition on the government favoring one religion over others.

Antidotes for You – They Bring Salvation in Many Ways

An antidote defined in the Meriam-Webster dictionary is a remedy to counteract the effects of poisons.  If you are bit by a snake there is an antidote to counteract the poison venom. A second example of antidote given by Meriam-Webster something that relieves prevents or counteracts for example an antidote for boredom.

People are naturally sad.  They need to be cheered up. No one is immune from pain. Life is not always pleasant. One of the antidotes created by the Lord in Heaven is song, another antidote is comedy.

Do You Need the Messiah? Follow President Trump to Victory in 2020

Before asking yourself the question: Do I need the Messiah, first ask yourself the question Do I need God?  Do I need to study the Bible? President Trump is pictured carrying a Bible.

There are atheists in the world who refuse to believe in God.  They may have suffered in the holocaust or have witnessed great tragedies in life which have made them atheists.  Atheists live their whole life without faith in God performing their duties to humanity as doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers etc.  Most atheists did believe in God once but lost it.  Their faith is compared to a lost object which has disappeared and the hope of finding it has been given up. Every day they witness another tragedy reinforcing their atheism.

Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem

June 6 saw an organized Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem.

The Orthodox Rabbis of Israel have called for Jews to demonstrate against the Gay Parade.  Gay parades have become the custom almost throughout the whole world.  There was recently a Gay parade in Tel Aviv.  Homosexuality is not new. It always existed but was kept quiet and restricted to locations which were designated as places where Gays gathered such as Gay beaches, Gay clubs.  The Gay community respected and recognized that there was opposition to them and conducted their interaction in public places designated for them.

The Messiah of Freedom

Rabbi Nachman of Breslov writes in his most foremost work Likutei Maharon, “Each and every righteous saint is in the likeness of the Messiah.”

The Messiah of Freedom, the Messiah of Song, the Messiah of Peace are all from the same source.  They are all one and connected to God. The Messiah is by definition a man, a human being.  Like all people he comes into the world which is temporary with two maternal parents.  The life of the Messiah is temporary seventy years, until 120 years according to the wishes of God.

Idolatry From Two Sides

A recent article about iconoclasm and the power of religious objects got me thinking about Kashmir. In the world today there are two sides in conflict claiming that the other side is idolatry. These two sides are from the side of the Abrahamic religion and the side of Christianity and Hinduism.  In the middle of this conflict are innocent human beings who become the victims of terrorism.

In Kashmir there is a long time dispute both political, ethnic and religious between Pakistan Muslims and India Hindus.  Muslim religion prohibits building any statues of deities.  In Muslim temples there are also no forms or images. The Koran is very strict to prohibit connecting to anything but an empty formless space who is Allah hidden and revered.

The God of Freedom – National Prayer Day

On May 2, 2019 was a National Day of Prayer in America.  The motto of this event is Pray for America. Love one another.  President Trump in honor of National Day of Prayer issued a proclamation.

At the White House was an event where President Trump spoke about the importance of prayer.  He also spoke about the importance of belief in God as part of America.  He had representatives from both Christian and Jewish Americans to lead in these prayers.  He singled out this year as a difficult year for peace between religions in America and mentioned the various terrorist attacks on synagogues, mosques and churches in the world.

An End to Religious Violence and Hatred

Christendom, Islam, Zionism are three parts of Religious nationalism which can only be received together in peace through freedom of religion which doesn’t accept violent acts of religious terrorism. Freedom and justice can tolerate hatred when it is confined in the four walls of religion but not when it goes outside. The humanitarian will not accept violence in the name of God.  The humanitarian believes in freedom.  He also believes in peace. God cannot tolerate building a Golden Calf desiring only for material pleasures or a Tower of Babel nationalism without religion like the Las Vegas and the California discotheque shootings.

Trump Unites Jews and Christians – Israel Elections

President Trump in his speech to the Jewish Republican coalition showed his faithfulness to the State of Israel and the Jewish people. He has already declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel; and has supported the annexation of the Golan. He has also cancelled the Nuclear weapons agreement with Iran. In his speech to the Jewish Coalition of the Republican Party he promised to continue to support the Jewish people against Anti-Semitism.

Holocaust Lesson for Mankind

Six million Jews were slaughtered in the Holocaust by the Fascist Nazi Regime of Hitler and over forty million human beings.  According to Wikipedia Fascism is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and control of industry and commerce. Fascists believe that liberal democracy is obsolete and they believe in a complete mobilization society under a totalitarian one party state. Such a state is led by a strong leader a dictator and a martial government composed of members of his governing party to forge national unity and maintain a stable orderly society. Fascism rejects assertions that violence is automatically negative in nature and views political violence, war, and imperialism as a means that can achieve national rejuvenation. German Fascism was also racial.  Hitler claimed that the German people the Aryan race were supreme. The Holocaust came to teach a lesson to Jews and to mankind.

In the history of the world there have been many dictators who have used their power like Hitler.  Hitler may be considered the worst of these evil leaders. In the history of the world there have been political and religious racists that used the type of idealism used by Hitler for the sake of National Unity. There are still movements in the world using this type of racism for the sake of national unity.  There are two major types of governments which are dictatorship and democratic.
