Apple officially released its fourth quarter 2020 performance report on Friday morning. The report shows that Apple’s iPhone sales in the fourth fiscal quarter were $26.44 billion, a sharp drop of 20.7% from $33.362 billion in the same period last year. Apple’s share price on the Nasdaq rose $4.12, to close at $115.32, an increase of 3.71%.
Apple is speeding up “Made in India.” By 2021, consumers in India will be expected to get the iPhone 12 produced in the country. This will also be Apple’s seventh model produced in India. Prior to this, low-priced and old models including iPhone SE, iPhone SE2, and iPhone 6 have been put into mass production in India. In 2019, iPhone 11 became Apple’s first flagship produced in India.
Apple held its second new product launch conference this year and introduced the HomePod mini smart speaker and the new iPhone. At 8 o’clock in the evening on October 16, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro officially opened for pre-orders. E-commerce platforms such as JD.com and Tmall were all sold out within a few hours.
