During today’s mass, Pope Francis implored Christians to be kind and helpful to “those who hunger for food and for dignity, those without work and those who struggle to carry on.” Francis led the Catholic faithful in Solemnity of Corpus Christi Sunday, and made his remarks during the Eucharist.
Pope Francis delivered mass this Sunday over the internet for the first time, saying he felt “caged.” The decision to stream mass, rather than deliver it from his customary window was to stop crowds from gathering during Italy’s coronavirus outbreak. After that, he approached the window to share blessings with the faithful in St. Peter’s Square.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe of blessed memory emphasized in his life that the time of the Messiah has arrived. The exile called Galut began at the time of the destruction of the holy temple. It was already beginning over four hundred years before when was destroyed the first temple. The first temple was destroyed because of idolatry. The second temple because of hatred between Jewish brothers. The people of Israel that were dispersed carry with them the Torah with the instructions from Moses to be careful in your application of the law, to continue to teach the Torah, and make a fence around the Torah to protect its holiness. The People of Israel are the representatives of the Torah which is also called the Holy Bible.
Nationalism is a necessary evil. God is both national and universal. The highest spiritual level is universal revealed by the Messiah of Freedom through resurrection. You need both national and universal to build the kingship of God on earth. The Byzantine Empire also called the Roman Empire today lives in the small country of Vatican City. The smallest nation in the world may be the most powerful. Last week July 4 Vladimir Putin visited Pope Francis at Vatican City. Russia, the largest nation in the world, visited the smallest.
The Pope visited Arabia and made prayers for peace in Yemen. The solution is on the table. The Lubavitcher Rebbe in Brooklyn N.Y. declared in 1992 that the world has changed, the way to peace has arrived.
Religion was once part of politics. The first Monotheistic religious state was the Biblical nation of Israel which was a Religious Monarchy. The nation of Israel did not evolve into a Religious Monarchy immediately when they entered into Israel under the leadership of Joshua. There was a period of 400 years called the time of judges about which it says in Judges, “In those days there was no king in Israel, every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” During the time of Judges there was even a woman Judge Devorah who lead the country in peace and war. The nation of Israel at the time of Judges is an example for all nations today.
