Russian nuclear physicists from the the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics are working on an international experiment, which centers around the Large Hardon Collider (LHC). The Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics is one of the major centers of advanced nuclear physics in Russia. It is located in the Siberian town Akademgorodok. It was founded by Gersh Itskovich Budker in 1959.

Swiss Government Cancels Major Events Due to Coronavirus

The Swiss Federal Council, citing a “special” situation in terms of the Epidemics Act, has banned major events with more than 1,000 participants. Health Minister Alain Berset told the media on Friday morning that this was done as a precautionary measure. For example, the Basel Carnival, the Geneva Motor Show, concerts, and football or ice hockey games are all affected. Office buildings with more than 1,000 people are not affected by this measure.

US President Donald Trump plans to attend the World Economic Forum in Switzerland later in January. Last year, the President didn’t attend the meeting because of the record-long federal government shutdown. The annual World Economic Forum Summit, held in the popular ski resort of Davos, attracts high-profile businessmen and politicians, as well as academics and other community leaders.
