- Being a lesbian or gay is illegal in some countries and some enforce the law of allowing homosexual just because of money.
- Many countries such as Dubai (or most Islamic countries) don’t allow homosexual people.
- Homosexual friendly places include Mexico City, Madrid, Berlin, Bangkok, Sydney and São Palo.
Being a homosexual is a natural thing but for many people in the world it’s weird. You can say that they completely hate a homosexual person. They don’t want to see that person in their area and this is also natural because every person is different in this world and they have their own hate and love. Maybe you have not seen these crazy people in your area or country but you can meet these types of persons while traveling to other country or area alone or with your partner.
Everybody wants to travel the world and see all the different and interesting places. But it is important to be safe while traveling. In other words it should be your number one priority. Therefore, I will let you know those things which you should take care of while traveling with your homosexual friend/GF/BF:
Don’t reveal your relationship/identity to anyone: The first and most important thing is to not reveal your relationship or identity to anyone if you are traveling to a country which is safe in your eyes and being a homosexual is OK in that country but maybe their countrymen don’t like homosexuals. Because these types of laws are created by the government and sometimes governments don’t listen to what all the people of the country want, just because of money. The biggest example of this thing is India. Being a homosexual is allowed in India but this law is enforced by the government without the consent of their countrymen, therefore you should take care while traveling in India. Don’t reveal anyone that you are homosexual or you both boys/girls are in a relationship. Always try to talk less or stay away from most strangers in this situation so you can be safe properly.
Research before visiting any other country: Being a lesbian or gay is illegal in some countries and some enforce the law of allowing homosexual just because of money as I just have mentioned above. So if you are planning to visit any other county then you need to research about that country. Ask your homosexual friends who have visited that country before and maybe that have experienced something which can force you to change your travel plans. Many countries such as Dubai (or most Islamic countries) don’t allow homosexual people.
You can choose among those countries that allow homosexuals and they have so many homosexual friendly places, clubs, hotels or websites e.g. from Mexico City to Madrid, Berlin to Bangkok, Sydney to São Palo. These all countries allow homosexuals and you can openly visit these counties and enjoy your travel without any problem. Here’s an advanced tip to finding a friendly place for lesbians: Search on Google trends for how many people in the country are searching for or read lesbian quotes and how much they know about lesbians.
Don’t mingle with a stranger: In your area or country, you are in a kind of a safe zone because you know the place and the behavior of other people. Most importantly your family, friends or relatives are just one phone call or an e-mail away from you. However, in other countries you will be in a different place in which maybe you are not accustomed to and people are strangers to you and your relatives are far away. So you need to be careful while traveling. Don’t try to mingle with anyone. Maybe that person can drug you, or take your passport or money, or maybe he/she can abuse you. There are several reasons you need to be careful before you talk or mingle with anyone.
Acquaint Yourself with Self-defense Techniques: Sometimes it happens that we like a specific country so much that we can’t stop ourselves from visiting that country and if you are also one of them then you have to be strong. You need to prepare yourself for every situation. If it’s possible, then you need to train yourself in self-defense so you can handle any situation because sometimes we can’t find time in an emergency to ask for help or call the police.
But you should also act smartly because you might react to those situations in which you shouldn’t react, and that can create problems for you. Don’t force a situation or confrontation that doesn’t need to happen. Try to respect all the locals and don’t talk rudely because I have heard stories of arrogant people who get into fights with locals over trivial things. So always try to learn about their culture and laws so we can stay away from these situations.
Don’t React: I am repeating this point again but just because this is important and you have to keep it in your mind always. In so many situations we can ignore the fight but just because of our low endurance we keep ourselves involved in unimportant and trivial fights. So, while traveling, when someone is talking to you rudely or commenting on you or your friend, try to keep this thing in your mind that you do not need to reply because doing so can put you in a bad situation, and that’s not why you’re traveling. You are traveling for the enjoyment and to gather good experiences. So, if something rude is said, my advice is to walk away.
Don’t hesitate to call the police: While traveling to other courtiers, when we face any kind of difficulty, we often try to face that situation alone or without any help, which is the wrong strategy. So when someone is following us or trying to fight with us, try to accept help. If this kind of situation happens, then you need to call the cops without any hesitation.
When you are traveling to any other country unknown to you, then you need to remember that country’s emergency number so you can dial it easily. In the USA it’s 911. In India it’s 100. So before visiting any country, research and memorize that country’s emergency number.
Conclusion: It feels bad when you are visiting a country for enjoyment but end up having to deal with personal security issues. Therefore, it’s better to choose those countries where homosexual persons are allowed and try to ignore those countries where homosexuality is illegal– because nothing is more important than your life. One small mistake or wrong choice can put us in danger, so always research properly and try to choose those countries where you will not face any difficulty and able to enjoy yourself properly and where you do not need to worry about those trivial things that you shouldn’t have to care about.
