US President Donald Trump on Sunday demanded that his main opponent in the November 3 presidential elections, Democrat Joe Biden must undergo an analysis to unravel a possibility that he is using drugs to up his debating prowess before or after the debate between the two presidential candidates scheduled for next Tuesday.
On Sunday morning, President Donald Trump renewed his call for Joe Biden to take a drug test either before or after their first debate.
“I will be strongly demanding a Drug Test of Sleepy Joe Biden prior to, or after, the Debate on Tuesday night,” Trump tweeted.“Naturally, I will agree to take one also.
His Debate performances have been record setting UNEVEN, to put it mildly. Only drugs could have caused this discrepancy???” he continued, without offering any evidence for the claim.
Trump has repeatedly questioned Biden’s age and mental alertness and has even suggested that he might have senile dementia. It is not the first time that Trump has hinted that Biden is using drugs to improve his debating prowess.
Tuesday’s debate would be the first debate between the two candidates in the race for the White House in which Biden is currently the favorite as per opinion polls. As per the latest opinion poll published this Sunday by ABC and The Washington Post, Biden is 10 points ahead of Trump (54-44%).
The opinion can’t be banked on entirely by the Democrats and Biden Supporters since in 2016 Hillary Clinton also led Trump in the polls. She was finally defeated by her opponent, the incumbent Donald Trump.
The study reduces the distance to six points (49-43%) when candidates from minority parties, the Libertarian Party and the Green Party are included. Trump’s approval stands at 44% and 52% of voters support the current president’s economic management.
Trump calls for pre-debate drug test for Joe Biden.
Biden remains the best valued man for managing the economy (51-40%) and 59% of voters who do not support Trump say his re-election would create a crisis for the country. 50% of voters who do not support Biden believe that his victory would spell a crisis for the United States.
As for the chances of tipping, they are supposedly small. Only 6% of voters who do not support Trump would consider doing so. While 5% of voters who do not support Biden would consider voting for the Democratic candidate.
Of the voters, 50% of them plan to vote by mail or early, compared to 46% of voters who prefer to vote in person. Among the first, Biden is the first option (67-31%), while among those who will go in person, Trump is the clear favorite (58-39%).
The study is based on 1,008 interviews conducted between September 21 and 24 and includes 889 registered and 739 likely voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3-5 percentage points.
