- Donald Trump has stubbornly maintained that there was widespread electoral fraud - without, however, being able to present substantive evidence to that effect.

- Donald Trump's former ally on the media front, Fox News, has also begun to distance itself from the president's statements about election fraud.
Donald Trump no longer seems so steely that he can retain the presidency of the United States. In his first speech since last weekend, which was held late Friday at the White House in Washington, he is quoted as having said that only “time will tell” who will be president of the United States.
Despite the Democratic candidate Joe Biden’s election victory in the US’ November 3 presidential election, Donald Trump has stubbornly maintained that there was widespread electoral fraud – without, however, being able to present substantive evidence to that effect.
Merely four days ago, Donald Trump wrote on Twitter that “we’re going to win”.
On Friday, a coalition of federal and state election officials in the United States concluded in a joint statement that the November 3 election was the “safest election in American history.”
Rejected in Swing States
Since then, it has also emerged that several of Donald Trump’s attempts to sue in several of the states where Joe Biden won have stumbled.
According to the New York Times , Donald Trump’s lawyers have been rejected in crucial swing states such as Pennsylvania, Arizona and Michigan.
However, the Trump campaign has won another lawsuit in Pennsylvania courts. Here they were upheld in that ballot papers that were submitted too late should not be counted. The ballots were not previously counted, which is why votes will not be moved by the result in the state.
Donald Trump’s former ally on the media front, Fox News, has also begun to distance itself from the president’s statements about election fraud.
On Friday, China was also convinced that Joe Biden is the next president of the United States and congratulated him on his election victory.
Donald Trump did not comment on the development during his press conference, where journalists were not given the opportunity to ask him questions. But the president was not at all as sure of victory as he has been in the past.
However, he hasn’t conceded defeat to Joe Biden yet.
Vaccine for Everyone
The reason for Donald Trump’s press conference was to give an update on the so-called Operation Warp Speed, the project to create a vaccine against Covid-19.
According to Donald Trump, it will probably be possible for all Americans to be vaccinated as early as April next year. The message came on a day when the United States broke the record for new, daily positive corona tests – no less than 160,000.
It is Donald Trump’s expectation that the vaccine from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer will be urgently approved so that it can be ready by spring.
In the same embrace, Donald Trump praised himself and his own government for having a vaccine ready so early – according to Trump, it would have taken another president “three to five years” to reach the same level.
Donald Trump has received widespread criticism for his handling of the corona pandemic in the United States, in which more than 243,000 people have so far died.
Currently, 61,964 covid-19-infected people are hospitalized. That is the highest number ever.
