  • Since TikTok is a video platform, the users have to start this challenge by holding up their fingers.

TikTok has become the go-to entertainment for people in the recent past. While it was popular before the pandemic as people enjoyed dancing to the beats and lip-syncing along with it, it was during the pandemic that several challenges became a trend on TikTok. What was started by one user for fun, soon became a viral trend and so far TikTok has seen several such challenges that people do for fun.

In this innocence test, you will come across 100 statements about different things that you might have done or not.

One such viral challenge was the Rice purity test. It consisted of 100 questions about life in general. It was successful which gave rise to another, updated version of this challenge called the innocence test.

This test also has several questions, just like the rice purity test, and helps in determining your innocence level by checking on your habits. These habits may be related to drugs, alcohol, sex, etc. It was created by a pair of best friends Grace Wetsel and Ella Menashe. They were intrigued by the idea of rice purity but noticing that it was out of trend, they decided to spice it up accordingly for modern Gen Z.

This trend went viral quite soon as in just 24 hours about 1.3 million people took the test and had fun with the results.

So, what exactly does the innocence test constitute?

In this innocence test, you will come across 100 statements about different things that you might have done or not. The people taking the test just need to tick the statements that they have done and leave other statements blank as they’ll be taken as something they have not done.

While the test has the format of rice purity test, certain things have been changed to conform with the current society. For example, there are few statements such as “masturbated”, “sent nudes, “had a fake id”, “had corona”, etc., something that wouldn’t have fared well in the 1980s.

Once you have completed the test by ticking on all the statements that you have done, your result is calculated as a score out of 100. The result also states what category of innocence you fall in. These categories include ‘Rebe’, ‘heathen’, ‘baddie’, ‘angel’, etc.

However, when we talk about this challenge on TikTok, it follows a different script. Since TikTok is a video platform, the users have to start this challenge by holding up their fingers. There are no boxes to be ticked, rather the statement is read out loud and if the user has done that particular thing, they have to put one finger down. If you see most of your fingers are down, then you know where you stand on the innocence test.

This has been a fun little challenge that has taken TikTok by storm due to users adding up their questions to make the game more fun. Many have even taken this test with their partners, friends, etc to keep them out of boredom in this pandemic.
